Las Vegas, NV. – Peyton Saxton was hoping to spend part of this Easter weekend at a race track chasing a checkered flag.Instead, he’ll be recovering from surgery to remove some wisdom teeth.
He’ll have plenty to smile about while he’s recuperating, however, as he and his Third Gen Racing teammates put on a show again last weekend at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s “Bullring”, with Jason Irwin scoring two second place finishes, Peyton finishing with two thirds and a fourth and Bryan Grandin with a fifth place run.
“Jason and I ran strong all weekend but Zane Smith had something nobody else had,” Peyton said.”Jason and I are about equal right now.The cars are fast.Jordan Dean also ran well in the Young Lions division, with a third, a ninth and a second.Bryan Grandin had a top five finish also so it was another competitive weekend for Third Gen Racing.”
Expanding on the topic of racing against his teammate Irwin, Peyton added that the competition is fierce but friendly.”I really enjoy racing against (Jason), the 15-year-old said.”He’s a really good racer. We both want to win but we don’t want to mess each other up in the process. He’s had a lot more experience than me as I’ve only been racing a couple of years, so I do learn a lot from him and from racing against him. We’re really good friends so that makes it even more fun.”
Peyton and his team will be back in action next weekend at The Bullring.
